Valhalla 502 cue

Posted by Deane Campbell on 11th Mar 2019

Hi there, well on receiving my cue I was very pleased with its aesthetic look. For a laminate graphic design its extremely well finished. I had engraving also added for a cost which finished the butt end nicely. The shaft I went with was taken down to 11,5mm and it also is well presented and finished. It's other attributes are its balance which can not be faulted. I especially liked that it's a little longer in the shaft than my other cue by about an inch so I now have a much easier squared motion from hand to elbow increasing better timing. Finally the tip, I went with a sniper which is a little soft but I believe it will compact nicely in the end. After a few days playing with it I notice that its shape has started to mushroom but as stated I'm waiting for it to settle in. However I have noticed that if the tip is not well chalked between every shot it can tend to deflect ( a result due to shaft width, tip and chalk) causing issues, lol. In summary a very well made cue at a very reasonable price. Viking have made a brilliant line of cues with the Valhalla series and I'm looking forward to purchasing a break/jump in the near future. Happy matches all!
