Justin Bergman

His story: Justin "Iceberg" Bergman has established himself as one of the most feared competitors in American billiards. Justin grew up in a family steeped in the game: his father was a league player, and his uncle kept an eight-foot table at home that young Justin could never stay away from. By around age 12 he had his own table, and the daily ritual of racing home from school to practice became the foundation of an elite career.

Even as a junior player, he was known less for flash than for composure. Early mentor Mark Wilson, a BCA Hall of Fame member and future Mosconi Cup captain, spotted something rare in the young player. Not just talent, but discipline and a striking calm under pressure. That quality would earn him his nickname "Iceberg" and, eventually, a place on pool's biggest stage.

Before rising to the national spotlight, Justin honed his game on the road, building a reputation as a dangerous and unpredictable money player across the midwest and beyond. His deep roots in Southern Illinois never left him; throughout his career, the community, the culture, and the pool rooms that shaped his game have always remained with him.

Bergman made his first Mosconi Cup appearance in 2014 and quickly became a cornerstone of Team USA, earning selections in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2019. The crowning achievement of his Mosconi career came in Las Vegas in 2019, when he was part of the American squad that ended a long European winning streak — a victory he has called one of the defining highlights of his career. His fifth selection came in 2020, though he was unable to compete after testing positive for COVID-19 on the eve of the event. Now, his ambitions are in full swing as he races to compete with the 2026 squad.

A multi-discipline competitor, Bergman is also an active presence on the Ultimate Pool USA circuit, where he serves as both a league operator and brand ambassador, helping to grow the sport at the grassroots level in America. His knowledge of the game extends well beyond the competitive arena; he is passionate about developing the next generation of American players and leaving a positive mark on the sport he loves.

Away from the table, Bergman is known for his authenticity and his willingness to go his own way, never one to follow the crowd, but always deeply connected to the people and places that matter most to him. In 2026, he has signaled a full-time return to the international stage with a clear mission: earn his place back on a Mosconi Cup-winning American team.
