Gratitude - Viking Cues Tip of the Week with Mike Roque, Author of "Build Your Game"

GRATITUDE

“I consider myself incredibly lucky. Every day I take a moment to give thanks.”

-Mitch Laurance

THE WORLD IS MOVING faster and it’s easy to get caught up in the breakneck speed of cell phones and internet downloads.

As matters of the heart slip through the cracks, material success and wealth often takes center stage. This is the house where jealousy prevails and wanting more takes over.

One of the most important things you can do is appreciate your good fortune and give thanks for it. Acknowledge all the good things in your life. List them on cards and line them up like family photos on a mantle. See them as treasures and cherish them every day.

Pool is a fantastic sport. You are fortunate to have the physical and mental health to play at any level. Enjoy the skill you have achieved and pat yourself on the back for the hard work you have done.

Be grateful for the friends you have made through pool and nurture your passion for the sport. You have been given an opportunity to play and compete. Honor that and give it the respect it deserves.

Savor the successes and learn from your shortcomings. You will win some battles and lose others. Take it all in stride and play for the love of it.

An attitude of gratitude attracts more good into your life.
